Rebecca O'Brien

Rebecca O’Brien is an experienced litigator, having acted for clients in disputes across a variety of sectors for more than 15 years.  Prior to joining the Bar, Rebecca was a Managing Associate at Allens and Special Counsel at Jackson McDonald.

Her principal area of practice is commercial litigation, with particular focus on contractual disputes in the mining and resources and construction sectors.  She has acted for large corporate clients in actions in superior courts, including high profile / high value royalty, construction, environmental and joint venture disputes.  She also acts for clients in both international and domestic arbitrations and has experience acting in insurance disputes, including professional negligence claims, and insolvency matters.

Rebecca joined the WA Bar in 2019, and was the winner of the Chief Justice’s Prize for the Best Performed Reader at the 2019 WA Bar Readers Course.

Rebecca is also a member of the WA Chapter Board of the College of Law, member of the Council of the WA Bar and a committee member for Women Lawyers WA.
