Helen Tiplady
Helen practises in all areas of commercial law, and has appeared and advised in a variety of commercial matters, including insurance, professional negligence, contract, construction, trade practices and corporations litigation. Helen has also appeared in both international and domestic commercial arbitration.
Immediately prior to joining the Bar, Helen was an associate to the Honourable Justice Jessup in the Federal Court of Australia. Helen has experience in private practice as a solicitor in Australia (at Minter Ellison) and London (at Clyde & Co LLP), and as an in-house solicitor at ITV plc (the UK’s largest commercial broadcaster).
Helen holds a first class honours degree from Monash University (ranked fourth on the final honours list). She was awarded the Academic Prize for the best result in Contract Law, the Sir Charles Lowe Prize for the best senior advocate in the Monash University Mooting Competition, and the Australian Advocacy Institute Prize for the best result in the Willem C Vis International Arbitration Moot.
