Alain Musikanth SC
Alain Musikanth is a commercial and tax silk who has spent most of his career practising at the independent bar.
Listed in The Best Lawyers in Australia™ for litigation and in Doyle’s Guide, Leading Tax Barristers, Alain has extensive experience as appellate and trial counsel before Commonwealth and State courts and tribunals, having also sat as arbitrator and mediator.
Alain accepts instructions in most commercial areas including commercial arbitration, construction and infrastructure, corporate and insolvency, employment, insurance, mining, negligence and professional liability, property and trusts.
He also acts in regulatory matters, and is frequently engaged in Part IVC and other contentious proceedings involving complex issues within the tax jurisdiction.
Before joining the WA Bar in early 2007, Alain was special counsel in the commercial litigation division of Corrs Chambers Westgarth. Prior to joining Corrs in 2001, Alain practised as a barrister in Cape Town, South Africa for seven years.
He is a former president of the Law Society of Western Australia and director of the Law Council of Australia, an adjunct professor within the University of Western Australia Law School, and the current chair of WA Bar Chambers Ltd.
