Amanda Thackray

Amanda has practised almost exclusively in Family Law for more than a decade. She commenced her career at one of Australia’s leading family law firms, before working at Legal Aid where she appeared regularly in the Family Court, Children’s Court and Magistrates Court.

Amanda was honoured to serve as the Legal Associate to Chief Justice Diana Bryant of the Family Court of Australia and was invited to speak at the 2018 National Family Law Conference in Brisbane.

Amanda has also served as an elected member of the Council of the Family Law Practitioners’ Association of WA and the Committee of Women Lawyers of Western Australia.

Amanda is recognised as a recommended barrister in Doyle’s Guide. She accepts briefs in all areas of Family Law (including as Independent Children’s Lawyer) and in care and protection matters in the Children’s Court.

Amanda is a Nationally Accredited Mediator and accepts engagements as a Family Law Mediator or Chairperson for Mediation-Style Conferences.

Both as a barrister and mediator, Amanda’s focus is the practical and efficient resolution of disputes in the most positive way possible for everyone involved.
